How to Get
to Siargao?
Sweet Paradise Villa · Siargao, Philippines · Updated 2026
Siargao is an island — no trains, no motorways. But with the right information, getting there from Europe or anywhere in the world is perfectly manageable. Here's the complete guide to reaching General Luna without stress.
From Europe: flight options
There are no direct flights to Siargao from Europe. You'll need to connect through Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB), the Philippines' two main hubs.
Option 1 — Via Manila (recommended)
- Europe → Manila: Air France, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines (13–16h flight + layover depending on airline)
- Manila → Siargao (IAO): Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines (1h30 direct flight) — multiple daily departures
- Average budget: €700–€1,200 return depending on season and how far in advance you book
Option 2 — Via Cebu
- Europe → Cebu: Via Dubai, Singapore or Doha (15–20h total journey)
- Cebu → Siargao: Direct Cebu Pacific flight (45 min) or fast ferry (approx. 3h)
- Great option if you want to explore Cebu before heading to Siargao
💡 Our tip: Book Philippine domestic flights at least 3–4 months in advance, especially for high season (July–October). Cebu Pacific Manila–Siargao fares can be remarkably cheap when booked early (sometimes under €30).
Siargao Airport (Sayak Airport – IAO)
Siargao Airport is small but functional, located about 30–40 minutes from General Luna. On exit from arrivals, your options are:
- Shared van: ₱200–₱300 per person to General Luna — most economical option
- Private van: ₱800–₱1,200 for the whole vehicle — comfortable with luggage
- Tricycle: Possible but uncomfortable for long distances with bags
Sweet Paradise Villa can arrange your airport transfer on request — just mention it when booking.
Coming by ferry from Cebu
- Duration: 8–12 hours depending on company (overnight ferry available)
- Price: ₱500–₱1,500 depending on class (berths available)
- Operators: SuperCat, 2GO Travel, Lite Shipping
- Arrival: Dapa port, then 30 min by tricycle or van to General Luna
